English Now! A/B Intervention is an English Language Development (ELD) standards-based language acquisition program for English Language Learners (ELLs) at ELD levels 1, 2 and emerging 3. The program is specifically designed for RTI, Response to Intervention, currently available for grades K, 1, 2, and Upper Elementary. English Now! applies the three basic principles of teaching vocabulary proposed by Nagy (1988):

• Integrates students' prior knowledge with new knowledge
• Provides multiple encounters with the new vocabulary through repetition in multiple contexts
• Provides opportunities for meaningful use of the vocabulary

English Now! approaches learning through Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT). The program applies eight TBLT principles.

The program provides 30 intensive lessons designed for the rapid acquisition of English vocabulary. The English Now! program includes a pretest and posttest assessment.

English Now! A/B Intervention Grade 1
